#12134 - Stampless folded letter addressed to USA - Montreal,LC double broken circle - Fe 19 1848 - H/S red "PAID" - M/S "Paid to the Lines" - text of letter indicates that additional letters were included within this letter with a request that they be forwarded by the steamer "Hibernia" - rated red "9" [ multiple weight ] - rerated at the border - "Paid" crossed out and at first rated blue "10" [ usa rate ] then overwritten with a blue "20" to cover the multiple weight -
